Breastfeeding is Hard

Something I think about more often than not is how hard breastfeeding is.

As a society, we both glorify and shame breastfeeding mothers.

What do you mean you breastfeed in public?!

Ugh, you're formula feeding?!

Breastfeeding is so beautiful; it can't possibly be hard?

Insert a MASSIVE eyeroll here.

Don't get me wrong, breastfeeding is pretty cool, but it comes with so many opinions and misinformation, with not a lot of support.

That's why I created Lactation 101. A simple crashcourse meant to teach and not overwhelm parents on what to expect after the baby is here.

Because no one teaches you when your milk changes, how supply actually works, and how to tell if your baby is getting enough without measuring it out.

So if you're looking for a little cheatsheet on what to expect from a Lactation Counselor who's worked with over 100 families, then check out Lactation 101.

Because we need to stop gatekeeping what happens to YOUR body after the baby comes out, and how to feed without pain.

Take the Course

Wishing you the best start to March,

As I moved between labors and hospice FaceTimes over the past few days, I couldn’t help but think about how similar birth and death really are. Both ask us to surrender to the unknown. To let go. To do something we don’t necessarily feel ready to do. Sometimes these moments come slowly, with little nudges that somethi...
I'm Backkkkkk from Mexico!
Hello Friends! February has flown by! As many of you know, I was in Mexico City and Oaxaca for 11 days on an Advanced Birthwork Training.  This experience was more than I ever expected, and the skills learned have already been utilized in my first, post-trip birth! What did I learn, you may ask? WELL, LET ME TELL YOU! The first few days were spent in Mexico City, where 12 other birthworkers ...
Postpartum Guides are Here!
Hello Friends! I am currently on my way to Mexico for an 11 day birhtworker training. I can hardly believe it. Maybe it's great plane wifi, but I thought why not launch the new postpartum guides today? Postpartum is initmidating. It's uncertain, overwhelming, and messy... but it's beautiful too.  My goal with all of our sessions is to prepare you. To take the scary out of it and hopefully make ...
